The Resort Location and Ground
The Hawaiian Village was one the first resort I stayed at when I first came to the island. It has 5 towers on the property, The Tapa, Diamond Head, Alpi, Lagoon and Rainbow Tower. I choose to do the the Rainbow Tower because I stayed here and it is one of the famous land mark on Oahu. Here is a Map of the Resort The Hilton Map.
The location of the resort is nestled on 22 oceanfront acres offering the perfect mix of exceptional hotel accommodations and classic Hawaiian hospitality. Also it is on the beach that Borders Waikiki and Honolulu. Great rolling distance for shopping and getting to restaurant. For touring the Island, just ask Guest relation and they will be glad to help out. The ground is spread out and it is very accessible with vegetation all over the place. I think you will agree that this is a paradise once you start strolling the area. This resort has plenty of accommodation except the front desk which does not have any accessible counters. But they do have a guess relation desk that will help with the checking in and other needs. Please take a look at the photos that will give you a glimpse of Paradise.
Room R2113
The way to get to the rooms in this tower is by a computer elevator. All you do is punch in the floor number before getting in and one of the 6 Elevators will take you to the floor your room is on. There is only two buttons in the elevators so please don't forget to type on the keypad out side the elevator. Either down on the ground floor or the floor you are on. The room numbers will not be on the doors you'll see when you go though the gallery.
The room I reviewed was R2113 it is a junior suite with a pataculer view of the ocean and the famous Diamond Head. It has lots of room to maneuver your chair or scooter. Has a queen size bed and it is low enough to easy transfer. There is a nice desk for you to work on and has Wi-fi connection. There also a big closet for you to almost as if it was a roll-in closet and it a low accessible bar for you to hang your clothes. Plus it has a safe at your level. Bathroom of R2113
The bathroom is quiet big and is divided into two rooms. One room has the sink and tub and the other room has the toilet and the roll-in shower. In the sink room the tub was not very accessible so I didn't take a clear photo of it. It didn't have grab bars on the walls so I recommend not to try it. The sink it self is very accessible except for an outlet which is way far back in the corner. Be sure to have someone set you up by having them plug in anything that needs to be plug in. Also there are towels next to the sink counter and they seem like they would be hard to reach please have someone put them folded up on the counter it self.
The toilet room has a pocket door to close off the tub room. The toilet itself is an ADA toilet and has grab bars on the walls. The towels are at an accessible height. The roll-in shower is very big for your whole chair to fit in. It has gab bars and a fold up bench with an adjustable shower head. Be sure to have some to lower it when you first come into the room.
